Kidshare Service

With all of the appropriate security checks, of course.

With all of the childless couples in this world, it occurs to me that there are likely a very large number of couples who would happily hire their kids out for a contribution to school fees, health insurance, international excursions, charities, etc.

This would serve the multiple purposes of:
-Relieving some of the emotional burden of 24/7 parenthood.
-Showing the sometimes ungrateful kids just how good/bad they have things at home.
-Giving unfortunate couples who really want kids the experience of having them on a part-time basis.

Security would be a consideration, but no more so than is involved in sleepovers, school camps and such.

I think a lot less people would have kids if they could rent them for a few months first. Your "try before you buy" idea could bring down our civilization!

If renting your children out is okay, then by that logic wouldn't selling them be okay too? And what's stopping people from renting children for cheap day labor?

[Unabubba], someone has stolen your account and is using your name to flood the halfbakery with short crappy ideas. I would reclaim my account and talk to the bakesperson about deleting most of it if I were you.

If you were me you'd shit yourself and go into hiding, [zeno]... seriously.

// a lot less people would have kids //

You say that like it would be a bad thing.

// wouldn't selling them be okay too? //

Yes. It happens already. You got a problem with that ?

// And what's stopping people from renting children for cheap day labor? //

In the "Third World", nothing. It's Standard Operating Procedure, in fact. Elsewhere, it's stopped by interfering bureaucratic busybodies who for some reason seek to prevent the efficient exploitation of this cheap , plentiful supply of low-grade labour.

       // appropriate security checks //

Why ? That will just put the costs up...... is there no cotton to be spun, no coal to be mined, no chimneys to be swept ? Are there no Workhouses ?

If only it would snow .... the perfect time to evict widows and orphans. <twirls points of moustache, doffs top hat ironically>

You're a collective, not a couple, you TA twat. No way you'd get through the first round of vetting.

You keep that vet and the two bricks away from us, you hear ? We know what happens to bullocks ...

Same thing that happens to their bollocks...

As a child of divorced parents who had joint custody, I was a 'shared kid.' Effectively, I lived out of a suitcase and never planned anything further than a week out because I never knew exactly what was happening at the other house. Consequently my long-term planning skills as an adult are less than ideal.

I could see it as a reality show, though.
