Lava Lamps can be "moody" sometimes not flowing much at all. sometimes they are "aggravated" and show it by being all broken up in little beads. Could turning the heat up a bit bring it together? Turning it down? There must be a temperature plateau beyond which the danger of broken glass and hot
released oil becomes too great.

I have noticed they don't work well in very cold rooms. What is the heat sink--the metal cap...the plastic cap on top of that...the air pocket? Can't clean an air pocket save for using an air filter. You must be talking about one of the other two. |
