Some relationships have a dominant partner. In countries whose vehicles have the steering wheel on the right, this partner should sleep on the right of the bed, and in countries whose vehicles have the steering wheel on the left, the opposite should be so. That's it.

       By international law, those would be bunk beds. Any country with ordinary double beds which straddle boundaries would get UN sanctions.
