This idea would be fairly easy to bake for piezo type lighters, maybe a different combination of gadgets would work for flint.
Assuming you sort of want to give up smoking (and you have to be a smoker to appreciate that phrase), the strike detector sits on your desk or coffee table, or both, waiting
to detect instances of a piezo induced arc. After a bit of tuning, the detector could easily spot when the lighter strike is within a few feet. At which point it starts flashing an LED, the second time a mild beep. This is just enough to remind you to relocate your pack and lighter to the other side of the room.
Each cig then comes with the minor added hassle of a gentle reminder and a little bit of exercise.
