robots communicate to the others to reconnect in another way . The damaged link surfaces for pickup and repair .
Power ? maybe self generating from ocean current on maneuvring propellors when in place on the sea floor .
Maybe only economic in unstable or difficult geography .

Sounds like a problem for "Knot-Theory Man". There is a reason these don't exist already. I also have a problem with your third paragraph. It implies some form of "wireless" communication. If you are going to incorporate wireless communication, why not go the whole hog? Set up fixed base stations and roaming slaves? Beware the Tides of March. |
