After purchasing a few Season DVD's of some TV Series (serieses? serii?) I've got a major complaint: the episodes still have all the commercial break lead-ins and comebacks... you know, the big dramatic musical ditties to cut out and back in from commercials... why ? Most people don't really need to
go to the bathroom or fridge every 10 minutes if they don't have to. The worst is when they cut to black, then cut in showing the last 5 seconds that you just saw before they went to black. Is it just that they're so freakin' lazy they can't make a DVD edit ?
Anyways, that's my "idea": simply produce "made-for-DVD" or "made for commercial-less play" edits.

I'll also vote against broadcasting made-for-commercials episodes with commercials in the wrong places. |

Television shows are written with the ads in mind. Not just the timing, but the plots, etc, all revolve around the ads. How are you going to do this without significantly changing the content? |

Or am I totally over-reading and you're just suggesting better editing of the cuts? |

[Noexit] I think you're over-reading; I just mean that the stuff that's added and tweaked after the episode has been made should be detweaked or deleted. Some may already do this. |
