There may be a measure of disgust upon reading the title above, but meal worms are loaded with protein and other nutriments. They would be toasted. Buckwheat grouts, also appropriately toasted, would provide the perfect complimentary flavour.

Kids, inspired by the gross-out aspects of the goods to partake, would be doubly delighted by the excellent flavour. Adults also would become regular eaters. This may be done with existing technology.

Annotation:

Reminds me of a fast food you can buy in the townships in South Africa. Fried chicken's beaks and feet, called..wait for it.... Walkie-Talkies ! Honest!

Idea is already baked in Australia. Traditional Aboriginal food called Witchetty Grubs. Big, fat, white suckers about 10cm long, roasted on the coals, taste like nuts.

       Yes, but no buckwheat!

Ah, Peter, can't you see that the Crunch would be a scary AND safe food? Toasted meal worms can't hurt you; they can only nourish you.
