Mexico City is situated on wet ground. In other words, the buildings are slowly sinking. There is this one church that is rather old. 5 stories of it have sunk underground.
We are among a rare time, one that is changing rapidly. I think that buildings in Mexico City would make ideal time capsules.
Every so often, we could construct a reinforced building on especially sinkable ground, fill it with stuff from whatever is currently going on, make it really heavy, and let it slowly sink beneath the earth.
Not only would it show architecture from our time, it would also really confuse future archaeologists.

In the Jerusalem archealogic tunnels you enter a room about 6 floors down, and looking up you see doors to rooms from 6 periods in the past 2500 years. Then in the hush you hear kids playing from the topmost house, partially underground. (presumably a basement) |
