Everyone could be encouraged to have an easily identifiable number printed on there person somewhere, and everyone could carry little Internet connected rating devices with him or her. So if some jerk bumps into you in the hall and doesn’t apologize, you would enter their personal identification number and rate them on how they treated you. His or her rating then would be instantly sent to a worldwide database accessible to everyone. Then if someone asks for a favor, or money or a date, you could simply look up there rating and see if others saw them as a trustworthy or dateable person or a monstrous human being to be avoided at all costs. People act so much nicer when they know their good or bad actions will have repercussions, especially if those repercussions are imidiate or dramatic. Because of this, a lot of people would become nice because there would be something in it for them, they would be able to gain trust easier, get more favors, and possibly even get bank loans based solely on their records of consistency and kindness.

We can only know the reputation of those someone in our circle of freinds has interacted with in the past, and if it is only one person in your cirle of friends, it may be biased, or inconsitant with who that person really is as a whole. And not everyones reputation is well known, and what if you meet somone on the street and they ask you out on a date, if you dont know anything of there reputation how are you to know they arent abusive? Or if a co-worker you dont know much about desperatly needs to borrow $10 how are you to know if they will pay it back?

This would be a way of geting the reputation of complete strangers so that you or your freinds wouldnt have to have the misfortune of being around the awful person in the first place

And sorry sealy, i know its a silly name but i thought the idea could sell itself.

The system could be massively abused. For instance, get your friends to give you loads of good karma so that you can ask this hot girl out, or get your friends to give someone you don't like loads of bad karma. The old fashioned idea of karma is much better, in my opinion.

       What goes around comes around.

       Digital Karma. Hmph.

Negative mood modification will work better. If the people usually have negative mood around you, it should be recorded as bad karma. If people are general in good mood where you are around, it is good karma. I think people have negative hormone change in their blood when they are under stress, maybe that can be detected and serve as an indicator.
