Night Crawler

Late night cleaning for the UK

In some mediterranean cities they hose the streets down at night. Don't know why, it could be an attempt to keep the streets dust and vagrant free. Point it is perfectly natural to see people with hoses spraying lots of water about at 3 am.

The street cleaners in the UK concentrate mainly on the gutters with those sweeper type machines that go round occasionlly. But another thing thats not out of place would be a drunk or two prostrate and hanging on to the kerb.

Armed with bin liners, these night crawler robots would slowly traverse the gutters bagging rubbish for collection later that night. Proximity sensors would cause the robots to utter a drunken zombie like "mwerrrggh".

They do the hosing here too, in the UK, sometimes. Not to the extent they do in Madrid or Rome, but it does happen. It's generally businesses that do it rather than councils, on their own forecourts.
Anyway, are you suggesting street cleaner androids which look like prostitutes or drunks? I envisage a robot which looks like a drunk lying in a gutter but with hidden caterpillar tracks which gradually trundles along gathering rubbish, which i have to say i find appealing. [+]
