A cockroach and half of the Statue of Liberty in a snow globe.

Inevitable, blatantly derivative, unoriginal, and uncreative. You've done much better work, my friend.

I would have designed it with flakes of real fallout in the suspension.

I just deleted a comment on another snow globe idea...about nuclear fallout. It's snowing snow globe ideas!

Anyway, what I was about to say was that the nuclear fallout could double up as a cute night light.

I prefer to think of it as solutionist opportunism. I am practicing for Silicon Valley.

Also there is prior art on the internets, named nuclear winter snow globe, but it has an atom bomb going off in it. How can it be winter if the bombs are still going off?

Ever heard of follow-up strikes? After the first round of missiles have flown and all the missile-defense systems are used up, long-range missile subs surface and launch their weapons even as the fallout and ash rain down upon the major population centers that somehow survived the initial exchange.

That would certainly be a part of an all out nuclear WAR, but a nuclear WINTER and thus the snow globe, would be a climactic change and under a worst case scenario last long enough for there to be only cockroaches and half buried monuments left,
JesusHChrist, Jan 01 2014

Nuclear winter would set in within three weeks of a full global exchange of nuclear weapons. At the height of the cold war, retaliatory doctrine on both sides called for third and even fourth follow-up strike capability as long as six months after the initial event.

This is exemplary of the lack of effort that made this a tediously lackluster idea. If you'd but some time into researching what might happen after a nuclear war this could have been a highly attractive addition to the HB snowglobe collection, but instead you just phoned it in.

PS: Lady Liberty would likely remain standing after a nuclear strike against New York City.
