Octopus Vacuum
Because I hate lifting chairs and such out of the way

This would just be a regular vacuum clearner with a bar across the front that contained several retracted appendages until you reached a spot where there was a chair or something else you didn't feel like moving out of the way. At that point you'd press a button and the appendages would roll out on extenable tubes and swirl around whatever was in the way like mini roombas on a leash. When the area was clean you'd let go of the button and the appendages would retract again, transferring the air intake back to its normal route.

Nice imagery - I'm sure that there's a simpler way of doing this but I doubt there's one that would look as cool.

+ looking cool and making cleaning easier will always get a bun from me...don't get those crumbs under the table.

I want one that comes equipped with adaptive camouflage to mimic the surface it's being used on.

and that lot won't come cheap. it would come with a little locking container to keep it from eating household pets; ie: dogs, cats, other fish, children, inlaws, grandma...

Do you summon it by lifting and dropping a large wooden hammer?

The dust bunnies under my furniture have been there so long they have mutated into dust gators. Anything you drop on the floor that rolls under a chair, you leave it. Or call for backup.

<hears jingle playing in head: "Who you gonna call? DustBusters!". Shakes head to make music stop>
