Not sure if many people have noticed this, but when you're in a semi stable or fully stable office environment the energy ebb and flow of staff tends to coincide into weeks or months worth of high or low energy for the office as a whole.
In many businesses this will be a seasonal glut or fallow sales
period so tables can be published of office biorhythms vs business sector.
In non-seasonal businesses its harder to pin down what causes energy boost and drain, but usually aligns with holidays or major changes in the business. Bringing this all together, it should be possible to make an office biorhythm calculator that takes everything into account and produces a graph of office energy.
If you don't know how to run with the herd, you'll at least know when. And if you get a creative spark, save it for when it will be best received.

Big brother is working you. I like that last sentence. Timing is everything. |

people's glum moods tend to get passed around - likewise flu germs. |

its well know that women working together tend to synchronise their menstrual rhythm - perhaps men's hormones work in a similar covert fashion. |

[+] I just might try to bake this myself. I'll bet
comparing a subjective log of the mood on a
particular day to a time-averaged measurement of
the sound level (in decibels) will prove quite useful. |

//its well know that women working together tend to synchronise their menstrual rhythm// I have heard this is an urban myth |

What po said. It used to, (whilst I had employ), amaze
me the way women's cycles, cycled together after a
while. I know there were studies done, but I don't
recall by whom. I think the end result theory was that
the moon caused this to happen. Yeah...,why not,
blame it on the moon. |

It's also well known that white folks ain't got no rhythm. How can you reconcile these two incontravertable facts, po? |

I don't know if a calculator will find the office biorhythms, but simple observation and quick acting might be fruitful. If it can be calculated, I'm all for it. [+] |
