Olympic sport is all very exciting but it involves an extraordinary level of elitism.

More telling of a nation's fitness and physical proficiency if you select your Olympic team at random, something like jury duty selection, to acquire a more representative cross-section of your society, to compete.

Who knows... you could end up running alongside Usain Bolt, in the marathon.

       How about making the judging itself an Olympic event?   

       "She's been training in the 'Lowest Scores' category for the last year, but when her teammate was injured in a tragic sign displaying accident, she had to switch to the 'Median Scoring' category. This isn't her strength".
