One Aspect of an Intelligent Jukebox
It plays certain tracks together.

Certain tracks are meant to be played in conjunction. A standard jukebox doesn’t do this. The owner of a jukebox should have the option of programming the jukebox to play certain tracks together. A typical jukebox’s inventory is small enough that there wouldn’t be to many instances of this. So it wouldn’t be too time consuming to make these programming adjustments. Also, it wouldn’t have a significant effect on the financial gain if these tracks played together represented one credit.

I'll take your word that standard jukeboxes aren't programmable, even though I thought they were.

Not to start a list or whatnot, but this would indeed create a market for "snappy comeback" songs, that is, songs that begin with a loudly stated opinion -- "If everyone thought like you, I'd be rich!" or "Your famous last words remind me of how drunk you used to be". +

An intelligent jukebox would play "Another One Bites The Dust" when patrons passed out the worse for drink, and the like.

This should be a property of a music file (cd track, mp3 or whatever), or be included in directories like cddb. That way, everyone doesn't have to set up grouping of tracks themselves.

[benjamin] We should all be experiencing man’s collection of stored electronic information via a far superior system than CDs, jukeboxes, radio stations cable and all the unnecessary infrastructure and work that goes with it, but that's another concept. It is a concept many that patronize this site have surely pondered. Sometime I’ll get around to posting my own take on it. Hope you like it:)

WIBNI or SHTOO (should have the option of...)

swamilad, Mar 31 2004

[swamilad] WIBNI there was a Football Monopoly Game? Lot's of things ideas could be construed as WIBNI. It would be nice if a jukebox had the above explained option. Football Monopoly would be nice too for the right type of person. In fact, you should go ahead and make it. A rough model could be designed at home. Good luck.

It would probably be a bad idea and get many fishbones. 'Twas satire tho.

In fact, I haven't checked recently... time to give it a look.
