As the world becomes more globalised it is also becoming less tolerant of other races, and particularly other religions. This often heightens tensions and increases violence towards minority groups.
Outraged majority groups begin to dictate the public debates on these issues, making it difficult
for well-meaning minority members to be heard.
Now, with these effigies of imaginary enemies readily available for public floggings and humiliation, the anger will be dissipated against the symbolic targets of this animosity.
Various models are available, from British Colonialists, to Oil Executives, to Raggedy-assed Arab Camel-herders... whatever minority / oppressor / public enemy you choose to hate. Petition your city fathers now, for a complete set... or build your own, with the first parts included this week, in over 240 exciting, vitriolic issues of our very own magazine, INTOLERANCE.
A few impact sensors and some hidden cameras and relevant authorities will be able to accurately gauge the public mood, in relation to various minority groups. It might also be possible to round up some of the most egregious offenders when they try their hand at a little practice, in between bouts of real minority-bashing activity.

I think the world needs commonly agreed fictional oppressors and religions which everyone can be united in their intolerance of, and anger towards. For example, Christians, Atheists, Muslims, Hindus and Buddhists could all be vehemently intolerant of the Church of No-Pants (q.v.) with no real harm being done to anyone. |
