One unfortunate reality of many people using one bathroom
at home is the possibility that someone may flush the toilet,
but may not check to see that everything has been flushed
away, leaving a rather unpleasant surprise for the next person
who comes to use it.
This could easily be avoided
by installing a device in a toilet
which scans the water a few minutes after the toilet has been
flushed, and if it sees anything that's not supposed to be
there, it will flush the toilet again. If after a few flushes this
does not solve the problem, it can signal (either aurally or
visually) the home's occupants to come and fix the matter.
