Peek-A-Boots

Toe's eye view

Rather than bend down to see what's under a cupboard you just poke the toe of your shoe under the edge and toggle a switch with your toe. Light floods out of the fitting just above the welt, illuminating the area.

The high gain, autofocus camera mounted in the toe of the shoe sends a continuous video stream to the HUD unit mounted in your glasses.

No longer will you have to stick your hand into a place where all manner of creepy-crawlies may lie in wait for the unsuspecting.

I'm thinking hiking boots here, in which case I hope they're very thick or are steel-toed in case whatever rock you're looking under has a venomous snake or something (or your cabinets at home yu're looking under have sharp nails).

8th of 7 just did one just like this.

DrPalak, I fail to see how there's much similarity at all. One is a collapsible periscope for perving on people in public toilets, the other is a microvideo camera, with its own light source, for looking into inaccessible places.

Your sense of relevance needs a tune-up, methinks.

Btw, I hadn't looked at Stalliscope to this point. The name meant nothing to me.

It's good you didn't call them beaver boots.

A woman wearing these wouldn't need a mirror; just sit in the lotus position and check out her makeup.

DrCurry: This is a different idea from the Stalliscope, and what's more, I like it. The stalliscope is designed to provide a sideways view of footwear; this is for peering under furniture .... excellent for trying to find where the dog has chosen to conceal his tennis ball this time.

       Croissant.

Trust me, blissmiss, you do *not* want to know what is lurking under your kitchen counters.

It could be integrated into a mopping/sweeping/floor waxing robot. It could sense grime and extend a cleaning arm to remove it.
