The ideal kite flies itself when you've loved it enough to let it go. The kite uses a very long piece of fine fishing line tied to something that will provide enough drag that this kite continues to climb when it's set free and doesn't spin out of control and head for the ground like most kites would. I figure it should reach 100,000 feet easily. Because the kite is made of silver mylar, it can be seen for many miles.
