As you walk around with your cellphone in hand it will start updating and telling you cool/interesting things that are happening around you.

You can customize what things you care to be notified about.

Some things would include:

- where crimes occurred

- discover spots like where movies were shot

- Wifi hotspots in the area

- Events happening live in the area

- Friends nearby

- Potential Celebrity sightings

- etc.

Thank you, but I am the most cool/interesting thing happening around me. And I, as a Potential Celebrity, do not desire sightings--too many, and I become a full Celebrity and lose my magic.

Speaking of magic, this thing is.

Well, strip out the "active" sense of radar and the magic of detecting "cool" things (unless the phone is equipped with some sort of bolometer).
Now, have the phone search Google maps based on its current position from its GPS receiver, as well as social networks and news websites, and the rest is pretty bakeable.
The wifi hotspot search is certainly baked.
Make sure you've got a good unlimited data contract and a spare battery though.
