Very simple; a rear car spoiler that detaches and unfolds to form a handy picnic table. Or, left in place, as a stand-up picnic bar. Well, face it, for the speeds most of us manage, it is damn-all use to improve road-holding.

S'matter [TS], get passed by an Mitsubishi Evolution CdTV6iQWERTIOP ? Or a Corsa with attitude? |

I'd like to see one of these huge rear spoilers with a gingham tablecloth and picnic laid out on it on a car burning down the motorway at 100mph. |

My dear chap, the very notion is a no-no. The most minor of dessert spoon scratches would reduce top speed by at least 0.00001mph.
How would I get home in time for tea? |

Damn. Now I know how the picnic table
ends. Wish I hadn't read this. |

I was really hoping this idea had something to do with increasing the aerodynamic downforce of picnic tables. That might be useful for those windy days when your table is in danger of being blown away. |

At the very least, it would make your picnic table look faster than the other picnic tables. |

Anyone remember the old Ford XR4i with its double rear-window spoiler? The motoring section of Punch had a cartoon of one, with a baby between the window and the spoilers, sitting on the lower one, and using the upper one as a high-chair style table, so kinda baked. (No babies were harmed in the making of this cartoon description) |

There's some sort of compulsion to put spoilers on Hyundai Excels, in this country. The motoring press refer to them as "pram handles". |
