Ply Doubler

Can never be too soft

Two rolls of toilet paper are mounted on horizontal spindles, one above the other, the upper one dispensing paper from behind and the lower from in front, so that the paper emerges from between them. Delicate metal feelers and sprockets guide the paper and engage with the perforations, ensuring that the sheets are aligned.

Now you can instantly double the ply of your favourite wipe.

Tripling the ply would be possible, but the mounting of the third bog roll may pose difficulties.

Extra guide rollers might be necessary. but yes, and there need be no limit, once the idea of stacking rolls feeding from the front from above and from the back (or upwards from the front) from below, has been digested and accepted.

Actually the floor and ceiling might prove practical limits.

Once you solve the issues of humidity control and feed rates, using successive units you could build mattresses.

Using a combination of angled guides, you could mount the rolls side-by-side on one rod.

This can only be taken to its most excessive, over- the-top conclusion: CUBE O' TOILET PAPER!!!

Wipe out idea [+]. This idea encourages me to add three of my ideas related to the messy business of messy business. Maybe I will after I get done with mine. I would die for a few more ply.

(Oh now I see there is the Ply Selector Deluxe Home T.P. System under this heading.)

Yes, very good, thankyou, if you have finished, we can get back to the serious business of discussing this important idea.

I'll be feeding the TP from this right into my splitter.

So kind and considerate of you, [rcarty], to provide a further supply of sub-ply provisions, allowing the doubler to demonstrate its quiet superiority.
