Pocket Time-telling Stylepiece

A pocketwatch that *stays* in your pocket

Humans have not invented the pocketwatch yet. After all, every time you look at a pocketwatch, it isn't in your pocket, is it?

This is an idea for a timepiece that IS in your pocket, and stays there.

It's a beautiful, small, irregularly shaped object, somewhat like a piece of amber combined with a child's jack (see 2 pictures, linked). At 10-minute intervals, different pegs poke up through the body, providing a constantly changing shape which you can use to tell the time simply by putting your hand in your pocket and feeling the device.

Pocket Stylepieces can come in many different shapes, colors, and textures. Some may have pegs every 5 or 10 minutes; others (for beginners), every 15 or 30 minutes. They are especially useful during meetings or boring conversations where you don't want to be seen looking at your watch.

(Please no "...or are you happy to see me" jokes.)

Thank you.

What's also fun is you can put it on a table, and it will jiggle every few minutes when a peg pops out.

Verrry interesting idea, this one. Always interested in non-visual interfaces.
