Incidentally, why isn't "spacecraft" another word for "interior design"?

I was at a superb accordion recital earlier, on London's South Bank. Suddenly, mid-concert, I could have sworn I could smell lavender, then jasmin, and finally camomile.
I think the virtuosa (Ksenija Sidorova in this case), had augmented her reeds with small viles of perfume, the scent of which spread through the audatorium, adding an unexpected dimension to her playing.

Aromatic Nebulizing Diffuser http://patft.uspto....33440&RS=PN/8133440
Aromatic nebulizing diffuser An aromatic nebulizing diffuser includes a base panel, a lower housing, power adapter, an electric fan, a speaker, a music control circuit, an ultrasonic oscillator carrying a light source, a fluid container, a waster shutter and a transmissive cover. When electrically connected, the ultrasonic oscillator is started to generate high frequency sound waves and to cause atomization of the aromatic fluid contained in the fluid container so that a mist of aerodynamic breakup of fine water drops is seen through the transmissive cover and at the same time, the music control circuit outputs a music through the speaker and the light source emits a mixed color of light to light up the mist of aerodynamic breakup of fine water drops that is forced out of the hole on the top side of the transmissive cover.        //a superb accordion recital//

Not surprisingly, Google says 'No results found for "a superb accordion recital".' At least until this idea gets indexated.
MaxwellBuchanan, Jun 20 2011

(No result for "a bright Oxford Don" nor "Bright Cambridge Don", either. Yup, I guess Google's always right.)
Dub, Jun 21 2011

I get exactly one hit for "a bright Oxford Don" but zero for "a bright Cambridge Don." Which proves that Oxford is better than Cambridge. Or maybe it proves something else.

I love this, but it smells more like po to me, then potpourri.
blissmiss, Jun 21 2011

very nice [dub] but //aug(e)mented her reeds with small viles <sic> sounds like an innuendo.
po, Jun 21 2011

No, he definitely said it was an accordion. An innueno looks and sounds quite different.

[mouseposture], the only one I can find is a link to here... and that doesn't count (being self-referencial)

[po], ta, fiexed. BTW, I'm off to Wimbledon to get some prizes

Wonder what Nirvana actually smells like, according to Weird Al?
RayfordSteele, Jun 21 2011

I don't suppose "augmented" was a subtle musical pun, by any chance?

Croissant-y scents waft through the air following my augmentation of your bun count.

Might've been... Just a little, pocissimo punissimo, perhaps

What's the difference between an onion and an accordion? Cutting up an onion makes people cry.
pocmloc, Jun 21 2011

Yes, but that passes. It doesn't make you wake up in the night screaming for years afterwards.

And you can start out not liking onions, but eventually get used to them.

"What's the difference between an accordion and a lawnmower ?"

       1. You can tune a lawnmower. 2. When you lend someone your lawnmower, you want it back.

I don't know why everyone here is so negative about accordions. They have a superb tonal repertoire, are rarely if ever out of tune, and are capable of dynamics that are the envy of most other instruments - all in a package that's more portable than a piano and more finely engineered than a sewing machine. The world would be a sadder and duller place without them.
MaxwellBuchanan, Feb 01 2017

No, hang on - I was thinking of guitars.
MaxwellBuchanan, Feb 01 2017

The multifunctional design of accoustic guitars is laudable. Not only can they be used for music, but also function as very effective slicers for hard-boiled eggs.

It can be difficult to retrieve all the slices of egg from the interior of the guitar. Even so, more often than not a distinct odour of egg can persist for a considerable time. Even on the limited data available, it is difficult to avoid the conclusion that guitar players do not like their instruments to be redolent of aged egg, and this can indeed be the cause of noticeable interpersonal friction, including but not limited to direct physical violence occaisioning serious and painful injuries (Folding music stands are surprisingly heavy and have numerous sharp projections, making them an ideal impromptu club). Large invoices for professional guitar cleaning have also been observed in this context.

Would-be egg-slicers should note that "It was meant as a joke" may have some use as a legal defence, but offers no protection against actually being thumped with a music stand. In fact, it seems to make things worse rather than better, and is best avoided*.

Unsurprisingly, the sliced egg does have a noticeable flavour of guitar interior, which is not particularly palatable, thus making the whole sorry charade a complete and total waste of time.

*"It seemed like a good idea at the time" should also be avoided.

[8th], the trick is to cook the egg first, and remove the shell.

I'll have you know, I have a great fwend in Wome who plays Accowdion...
