We've done this before. Prepaid parking tickets differ neither a jot nor a tittle from existing pre-paid parking schemes. NYC now requires just such parking tickets for all trucks, whether they are legally parked or not. But wait - you live in NYC - guess you missed that press release. |
|
| |
I searched, but I didn't see it. |
|
| |
The only other pre-paid parking schemes I know of are monthly garage / lot rental and seasonal / residential / beach - style parking permits that show you live in the area. |

This idea is different from those in that here you can park more or less anywhere in the locality, whenever and for however long you want. |

Yes this exact idea, with this exact name, was definitely here before. The author must have removed it. |
|

I remember being quite vehemently against it. I likened it to selling indulgences. |

Parking fines are a form of punishment, meant to prevent people from violating a law. You shouldn't be able to buy the right to violate the law. |

I agree with you, waugs. I don't recall the previous iteration of this idea, but I hope it's clear that the intent here is satirical. Maybe I should have made it more over the top. |
|
| |
Ah. It's clear now, thanks, snarf. The previous author was quite serious. |
|
| |
Waugsqueke, don't you know that fines are meant to allow people to buy the right to violate the law. |
