Now that we have a spray that can instantly numb skin someone should add it asto the devices diabetics use to measure their blood sugar level. At the push of a button the spray would cover a small patch of skin beneath the device, followed seconds later by the prick of a needle. Since the skin is now numb there shouldn't be any pain from the prick. (See link for more info.)

       This is a great idea!

I thought it was going to be an idea for a spray to repel jerks.

       No sniggering at the back!!

Umm, I'm not sure this is necessary. I test every day and I don't really feel that much pain from the lancet.

If you test on the skin on your leg, rather than the nerve-laden fingertips you can barely feel anything.

I like [bris]'s suggestion. I'd extend it to include Hyundais, Mitsubishi Lancers and pickup trucks.

And I thought it was going to be an idea abo-- Well, nevermind what I thought. Good idea.

       I can be a prick with a 1990 Corolla.

       You all suck.

       See?

EDIT: On-topic. Good idea. I dated a diabetic for a while, and her single biggest fear of the day was the lancet. Secondary note: This might also work pretty well for insulin injections, for those who don't yet have pumps. All-around stellar idea.

Very nice. But surely if we can administer anasthetic via spray we can administer insulin via the same medium?
