Ive had my camera stolen at Fort Lauderdale Beach and ever since I have been very cautious about where I leave things on the beach. I also lost my wedding ring in the water at a beach.
Id like to see lockers, located near concession areas or restrooms, that use fingerprint scan to open. Then you could
leave your keys, cards, phones, cameras or whatever things you dont wish to leave in a car or hotel room, safely nearby and would be free to enjoy the area with less worries.

Will those fingerprint scanners get confused by "pruny" finger? |
|
| |
Pruny skin might be a problem, who knows? If so an retina scan would be the way to go IMO. |

Or maybe a key and a safety pin. |

i think [oyea6] is referring to the fact that a master key can be used by employees of the place to snatch your stuff even if it's locked with a mechanical key. |
|

something tells me that military strength security measures are a bit overkill for the beach locker scenario. would be a tad expensive. |
|
| |
I just don't want to have to worry about where the key is either, or forgetting a pin. I'd prefer not even having to remember the locker number, I don't want to have to worry about any of that stuff when I'm taking in the things I came there for. I want to be totally carefree. |

Overkill? Expensive? Since when do those matter around here? |

point taken. i didn't fishbone it, for that reason. maybe the hotel safes with the user assigned pin number would be as effective. would eliminate the pruny fingerprint concern. |

Both retina and fingerprint scanning hardware is cheap. |

Put your belongings in an airtight bag and bury them. (Near your blanket, so you can find them again) |
|

That's what I did with the camera, guess someone was watching.
Maybe they didn't like me snapping a shot in their direction. |

"...or forgetting a pin."
That would be a safety pin (with the key attached) to which I think [yabba do yabba dabba] was referring. So you can pin the key to your swimsuit. Unless it's a nude beach, then your nipple is always an option. |

I've used those pin on keys before and I find myself checking to make sure I still have it every five minutes.
I want total carefree. No going to the hotel safe either. I want my camera, keys, cards close and safe. |

what i meant was use the same types of safes that they use in hotels but have them at the beach. They have a PIN number you assign on a keypad that opens them instead of a physical key. |
|

OK, I can remember my PIN numbers, but someone could forget. I could have an armored car on the beach, but I still want the retina scan so I can lose my swimsuit and/or my mind and still have no worries. |

what if you get your eyes put out buy a pointed stick... |
|
| |
then again you probably won't need the camera or the car keys at that point. |
