For all the folks who don't have automated dishwashers in their home,
or sinks large enough to scrub their large pots in. This would be a
large place similar to a laundromat, but instead of clothes washers and
driers would be filled with dishwashers and large sinks. The sinks
could be regulated,
if you're worried about water bills, like a petrol
pump. Pay in advance for a given quantity or dollar amount, then it
shuts off when that amount is reached.

Portable dishwasher
http://www.google.c...m=1&ved=0CCgQrQQwAA You will then want to name it and then outfit it with googly eyes and other robotic paraphernalia as appropriate for a domestic servant robot. [bungston, Nov 04 2009]

I don't recall using a pan or dish that's larger than my sink's capability to wash it afterwards, but I've never tried to make paiella. |
|
| |
What would stop people taking their massive pans down to the jet-wash? (Not that that's a problem with the idea, just a potential source of competition) |
|
| |
[+] Simply mount existing dishwasher racks on the roof, drive through style. |
|
| |
Damn... that's a tempting idea, Bigs. |
|
| |
I've seen horses go through, and there was a lady who rinsed off a child recently and got in trouble for it. If I could get properly prepared sanitzers and rinses, I'd love it for my home brew equipment. |
|
| |
Next door's cat cleans my plates.... Imagine the weight and trouble bringing a pile of dishes to a laundrette. Silly idea [+] |
|
| |
Fun time and meet others too, while cleaning up. I
like this. Bravo, mon Questor. |
|
| |
This was actually inspired by necessity, as our new home lacks a
dishwasher. I really took those things for granted... |
|
| |
This would look absolutely hilarious. Good idea for a flash mob - just take over a laundromat, and pretend that everybody in there has just the *completely* wrong idea as to what those machines are for.... |
|
| |
but nevertheless still strip off to one's underwear, as is
per usual for laundromat attendance. |
|
| |
Actually, it's only my opinion, but in my opinion,
dishwashers are about number two or three in my
entirely fabricated top ten list of number one causes
for
user-level contributions to global warming (in that
dishwashers are wholly superfluous - they're not
an enabling technology, they're merely an enhancing
technology, but they really do suck the resources -
and
kitchen space). I've never had one, can't fit one in
here,
and much like cars (number one on said list), can't see
the need for one and will
never feel compelled to have one. |
|
| |
A modern dishwasher, if you use it when it's reasonably full, will use less energy and less water than washing the same things by hand (see link). |
|
| |
I love my dishwasher, and won't have a word said against her, though the bit about taking up a lot of room in the kitchen is spot-on. |
|
| |
Me hopes you are not referring to youst wife, mr
copro. Or you may be the new dishwasher. If you get
my drift. |

<guy with pushcart>Bring out yer dishes !</gwp> |
|

He, there could be a whole line of "domestic chore rickshaw". "Any odd ironing ? Any odd ironing ? Bring out yer ironing !" |
|
| |
Actually, a D2D (door-to-door) ironing service would be kinda
cool. I'd pay a few bucks for someone to iron my shirts in the
morning. |

Do you feel compelled now ? How compelled do you feel, on a scale of zero to one ? Smile and nod. The stains in your trousers may wash out eventually. Best not to make any sudden movements. |

Please people, remember the syntax for self closing tags. |
|
| |
oughtn't the slash to go at the beginning of the tag? |
|
| |
</Sound of .455 Webley being cocked> |
|
| |
No, in XHTML the slash goes at the end of an empty
element. Of course, none of this fake XHTML nonsense
could ever validate, as they seem to consist of a leading
element tagname, followed by either a series of
attribute names with no values, or attribute names with
no equals and no quotes around any values, or a mixture
of both. |
|
| |
Anyway, XHTML is going to fade away soon and be
forgotten. HTML5 will win. |
|
| |
All this code talk is going way over my head. |
|
| |
I just spent two hours cleaning our kitchen. Our
dishwasher is a dinosaur. We live down the street
from a hugely popular laundromat, I am tempted to
flash mob like [jutta] said. It would sure spice up the
drudge of kitchen cleaning. |
|
| |
I had imagined this might be a way to avoid the use of disposable crockery etc. in food halls - take along your own plate, and get it washed afterwards. You'ld have to put up with a paper cup for your coffee I suppose, which you'ld be drinking while you were waiting for your plates to be cleaned. |
|
| |
I guess you could shrink a car-wash system - that would be quicker than waiting for a conventional dishwasher to fill up and go through its cycle. Large industrial conveyer-belt dishwasher systems are baked already, aren't they ? |
|
| |
But the idea here is not for a large industrial conveyor belt
dishwasher. |
|
| |
so...now we need something to haul off the dirty dishes in, then something to put them back in after they are clean..shopping cart with a dishrack inside might work...or laudry basket with slots? any ideas for the transporting of the dishes? |
|
| |
I was thinking bus tubs (like those used by waiters at
restaurants) for the dirty dishes, and regular countertop dish
racks with handles for the clean ones. Your idea, for a converted
shopping cart, makes more sense for larger loads, though.
Making it collapsible to stow in the trunk would be great. If you
want to make a post of it, I'll bun it Xandram. |
