A disc shaped spacecraft that rotates like a flying saucer can fire a single pulse at a time pulse detonation engine that has more time to scavenge and less problems than current PDE engine with continuous pulse rates. The many engines will be radially placed at (each) given rotation angle around the spacecraft. They can be placed at differend firing angles. These engines will be around double efficiency of jet based engines. They can operate at much higher altitudes than jets. They can be converted to LOX injection when outside of the Earths atmosphere. The radially spaced PDE tubes can double as the structural elements of the spacecraft thus saving weight.

Not even similar but you may find it interesting. http://www.rexresea...aithwat/laithw1.htm
