Pykrete against global warming

If you believe some people, Antarctica is going to melt. Much of this meltage, apparently, comes from glaciers sliding into the sea, and then melting rather than remaining as ice shelves. This slidage and meltage compete with snowfall, which builds the glaciers in the first place.

An obvious solution to this is Pykrete. All we need to do is to round up all the world's rubbish (particularly paper; but anything that can be shredded to become fibrous will do) and dump it on the inland parts of the glaciers. By the time those parts have reached the sea, a few years later, snowfall will have happened and converted the layer of rubbish into a Pykrete shell over the top of the glacier. Pykrete is very significantly more resistant to melting than regular ice, and hence will solve the problem.
