Just a shout out to any halfbakers in Queensland (past and
present and unabubba) that may be affected by the flood.
The right way up?

Yes, [Ian] I think you have something here! [+] |
|
| |
part of my family are emigrating there very soon. some acts of heroism on the news. |
|
| |
I also have a friend from real life who lives there and he's apparently OK. |
|
| |
No. He might be safe, or be in good state of well being
(which is excellent news). |
|
| |
Best of luck to all there, and indeed those in Brazil and other
stricken areas. |
|
| |
We're flooded but its all frozen up here in Canada. |
|
| |
Don't you mean "down there in Canada?", [rcarty]? |
|
| |
My thoughts and wishes are here as well. Watching
the news in disbelief at all the carnage. |
|
| |
I have this notion at the back of my mind that more of the earth is becoming subject to 'rainy' and 'dry' seasons. |
|
| |
I don't understand where all that water's coming from. On the
BBC, they were interviewing people in a town that's 7000 (or
maybe 700) ft above sea level with no rivers, creeks, or other
bodies of water anywhere near the bloody place and they got
flooded out. |
|
| |
Maybe they buy too much bottled water. |
|
| |
No up north down south up west down east. That's holding a compass orientation. |
|
| |
it's called rain, 21, rain! |
|
| |
I'm sayin, if the towns that high it should drain, po, drain! |
|
| |
There were flash floods i think, so water courses on high ground overflowed and the water went downhill. Not absolutely sure about this. |
