I'm sure you're familiar with that little robotic cleaning thing with the trademarked name of roomba. Great, fine, but it can't dust, and I don't think it likes working around stairs either.
If there's any place we all want an automatic cleaning machine, it's on top of the refrigerator. A normal
roomba would be quite a bit too large, and it would likely fall right off the edge.
Thus, we develop a new microminiaturesmallsizeized roomba, with a slight modification of it's perimeter. Rather than just the regular sensors, we will equip this roomba with a ring of tiny sliding things. When one falls down, it opens a circuit, and the roomba detects a steep edge which it sould avoid. It then changes course... and hopefully we designed these sliding things with a curve to them so they can be pulled back up easily, otherwise it would get stuck. [link]

Yes, but it would also have a "microminiaturesmallsized" dirt capacity, and from my experiences, quite a lot of dust settles on the top of refrigerators. |

Also, the cost of such a device could be more than the nuisance of taking a wet cloth or duster up there once in a while. |

I vote + for anything robotic. It should climb stuff too. |

The microminiaturesmallsizeised dirt capacity could be easily remedied by devising a docking station and a separate large capacity waste bin. A magnetic ramp leading to a platform just behind the refrigerator could open up to a tube and storage bin. Presumably the extensive quantity of dust on the fridge is really just because we only clean it when we expect guests from out of town... |

Climbing... Then it could do blinds! But it's too late at night for me to figure that one out. Feel free to try your hand at it penguin. |
