We know enough about conditions that cause rain to be able to simulate it in a room. Why not use the principles of vapor and pressure to create a similar effect for snow globes. And then why not add to the mix reducing temperature to simulate snow. It would be neat to flood houses.

The problem with real snow is that it eventually gets hard and crunchy and clumpy and not so good for blowing around a globe. The snow in my front lawn got that way overnight. |
