The problem with April Fools Day is...it's difficult to fool people because they know that it's April Fools day and therefore are less gullible.
I suggest a second day on which to fool people.
April fools day is on the 91th day of the year, so Reciprocal April Fools Day would be on the day with
91 Days left till the end of the year: October 2nd.
This date would be easy to forget, and unknown to many (like Talk like a Pirate day) but could be used to fool people nonetheless.
Eventually however the date might be realized and people would avoid getting fooled again.
April Fools would still be kept, but Reciprocal April Fools could be celebrated alongside it.
*I realize that the word Reciprocal isn't used in its true sense, but I wanted to avoid calling it "October Fools".

How about taking advantage of existing infrastructure and using the Julian calendar? Then you could play your trick on the 14th of April and shout 'Eastern Orthodox April Fool!'. |

This trick can also be used if you want to be romantic on the 27th of February... or, stretching a point, if you forget someone's birthday. |

How about making it a different day each year? You'd have to check a website like aprilfoolsday.com to find out -- of course, on "the" day, the website would certainly provide an incorrect date :) |

I observed the first of each month as a Fools Day, except for in July. That's Canada Day. |

you know that today isn't Reciprocal April
Fool's Day? |
