<resurrection ..whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die..(reaches for more graveyard powder)..whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die...(passes a chicken* over the bytes)>
Right, having resurrected this idea temporarily...I do seem to remember being told off on here,
for a lightweight hydrogen storage system, being a bag, in a bag, etc,
Each layer inwards is pumped up to a higher pressure allowing the innermost bag to be very highly pressurised without blowing the recursive bag to bits.
I mention this now, as I finally got around to reading Seveneves, and Stephenson mentions a similar system for cosmonaut's rest area. Now, he could just be making it all up...
* Actually it was Quorn. It's the cutbacks, y'know.
||If you have ten concentric bags, each with a wall thickness of 0.1mm, your central bag will be able to store the same pressure as a bag with a wall thickness of 1mm. (Or less, for some failure modes.)
||Yes but you could have 10 bags of 1mm each. And where would you be then, eh?
