Half a croissant, on a plate, with a sign in front of it saying '50c'

This would work fine, except in terms of success.

Like many reflective products, a paint with embedded glass beads or other reflective material. Paint a bicycle with this, and it would be more visible in reflected headlights. An enhancement, not a substitute for adequate safety lighting - and better than those silly wheel reflectors.

Of course, it could be used for CARS to, but I'm a cyclist and that was my first thought...

Rustoleum's Reflective Paint http://www.rustoleu...roduct_id=647&SBL=1
(though I'm guessing this particular paint won't stop your bicycle helmet from getting rusty.) [DrCurry, Jul 24 2006]

What is reflective paint? http://www.wisegeek...eflective-paint.htm
...complete with a whole bunch of annoying ads for same. [DrCurry, Jul 24 2006]

//silly wheel reflectors// I hate those things, and the bikes they ride in on.

Reflective paint may be done already, but it needs to be more widely applied to bicycles. Welcome. [+]
