How many times have you not been able to connect to a networked computer somewhere in your house and had to go restart it? With this new invention, you don't have too. Now, I know you're thinking that there is already software for this, well, I think not. Sure, there's software that allows you to
remotely control a computer, but the two have to first be connected. Usually, it's a software problem. You can tell this by looking on the indicator lights on your hub/router. You know there's a working connection between the actual card and the hub/router. But how is this done? It's simple. Rather than relying on some crappy program that never works, let's put a special button for each computer on the hub/router. When this button is pressed, it sends a special signal to the offending pc's card. Whenever this card gets this signal, rather than sending it to the operating system, it sends it directly to the computer's BIOS which tries to restart the computer, and if there's no progress after say, 15 seconds (like the computer is locked up or something) the BIOS issues a reset. Perhpas these reset buttons could also be linked into a system to tell you when the computer was fully booted up again.
