Anyone who has dined at an a la carte restaurant recently will have experienced "The Hovering Of The Pepper Grinder", a peculiar dance involving you, the diner, and an attentive junior waitperson, armed with an impressive, handcarved, wooden monstrosity filled with peppercorns.
Coming soon to a
restaurant near you is "Sprinkles". Hundreds of spices, sourced from all over the known world: Crushed seaweed from the Siberian Peninsula; lemon zest from the plains of Spain; salt from the pristine Southern Ocean; cardamom seeds crushed on the toenails of dusky maidens from the subcontinent; bonito flakes sundried on rocky outcrops on the Pacific coast of Honshu; The list goes on and on and on and on...
All delivered via a sprinkler system built into the ceiling of the room. No more heavyhanded, hovering, sniffling, spotty, spice-sprinkling teenagers breathing all over you.
Press the touchpad on the table to select your herbs and spices > select Light, Medium, Heavy > select START > the sprinkler descends silently from the ceiling, carefully avoiding your head and histrionics; observe a gentle rain of spices, herbs or seasonings over your plate then the sprinkle dispenser retracts back to the ceiling, leaving your meal perfectly seasoned.
Coming soon, drinks dispensation, napkins and other accessories.
