Rhino Viral Cunning Stunt for Measuring the Common Cold

  [vote for,

How bad is a cold? When it gets better, it’s almost gone – that can’t be correct. If a person has a cold, or some nose-related virus, it must now be measured in rhinos.
Ian Tindale, Jan 03 2018

The word "rhino" (or something very similar to that) means "nose" in ancient Greek. Therefore a word like "rhinoceros" translates as "nose horn" (because "ceros" was a word that meant "horn").

You may be on to something, [Ian], given that most colds are caused by rhinoviruses.

It's amazing your species hasn't developed a preventative remedy to rhinoivuruses; it can't be difficult to stop large grey clumsy herbivores from getting up your nose.

Just a length of ordinary chainlink fencing wound round the head a few times ought to be enough, shirley ?
