Apprehending the perpetrators of car chases is among the most dangerous things law enforcement officers ever have to do... to the extent there are multiple television series about it.

The S.W.O.T. (or Sandwich Wrap Offender Trap) is two series of hundreds of poles, each mounted into one of two baseplates, with a locking mechanism at the base.

The corresponding poles are linked with a sheet of cling wrap the width of several lanes and about 5 metres high.

As the offending vehicle approaches, the baseplates are aligned parallel to the sides of the road and a police office fires two small rockets that stand all of the poles into place, locking them upright.

The target vehicle strikes layer after layer of sandwich wrap, draining its momentum and blocking all forward and lateral vision from the vehicle.

Police officers can then unwrap the offender at their leisure, and cart him off for interrogation, incarceration and humiliation.

Cute. Watch out for teenage vandals attempting to suffocate unsuspecting bicyclists though.

Am I the only one who can't make sense of that annotation? I've read it about 6 times and it just gets worse.

There should be an online service to make sense of drunken rants, unintelligable translations and bad grammer to the point of being a different language.

There are quite a few flaws in the idea - but I really can't be @rsed sorting them out in my head and trying to solve them. Instead, I am so entertained by the idea of criminals wrapped up in cellophane cling film that [UB] gets a suitably wrapped fresh croissant.

sometimes [beanangel]: language :: [benfrost]: art in the sideways shock value of it. They're actually enjoyable that way at times to try and decipher.
