Salad Fuel Lighter

Uses ClF3 to combust varous salad vegetables as a stupendously dangerous way of having a novelty lighter.

Small pressurised tank of ClF3, and a tube and indexing wheel for advancing a rod of carrot or cucumber or whatever into the combustion area.

Caution - creates horribly noxious fumes, may blow up for no reason.

N-Stoff, or Chlorine TriFluoride https://en.wikipedi...hlorine_trifluoride
Part of any supervillian's chemistry set. Make sure to read the John Drury Clark quote under the heading Rocket Propellant. Then go out and find a copy of his excellent book "Ignition: An informal history of liquid rocket propellants" [Custardguts, Sep 28 2015]

Prior art? Skip to 0:53 if you like. https://www.google....aSTZTcvhyaitgnh_gJg
Sans ClF3, but not entirely unbaked either. [absterge, Sep 29 2015]

Incredibly foolish and ill-advised use of a dangerously reactive oxidising agent.

       Egregiously volatile [+].

I first read the description errantly as "This is research".

       Solid fool lighter.

Where does one buy this stuff... I have a couple of unshiftable stains that might benefit from being ignited.

// Where does one buy this stuff. //

That depends ... will Sir be paying cash ? Used notes, non-sequential numbers, nothing bigger than a $50 ...

They make notes of less than $50??
MaxwellBuchanan, Sep 29 2015

Don't forget to eat your vegetables, [absterge]. But I gotta warn you, they carry a powerful punch.

Pre- or post- ignition? Either way, that would be "research" of the most frightening kind, [bliss], the kind best left to "volunteers".

       Also, link.
