A large dark chocolate easter egg that may contain either a white chocolate or dark chocolate cat. There is exactly a 50% chance either way, as the factory carefully controls how many of each are made, and you can't tell until you open the egg....

It's true (although not a very good heavyweight as it turns out)! [DrBob, Mar 03 2009]

I suppose you could have a non-melting chocolate outer shell, and a very heat sensetive cat... then a further 50% could be placed near a heat source for a set time...

I was afraid this was going to involve a live cat. '+' for dodging that awful possibility.

Sinfully rich but oh so tasty. Deliciously sick yet insanely divine. I love it!
blissmiss, Mar 01 2009

Distributors could in all good conscience guarantee that the cat is simultaneously black and white until someone observes it. +

Not often there's a good idea with a title that begins "Schroedinger's..."
wagster, Mar 01 2009

Yep. And you never know until you look.

       hmph! derivative... but [+] anyway.
hippo, Mar 02 2009

It'd be slightly more appropriate if it contained a small chocolate Jesus*, either evidently alive (smiling, hi-five) or dead (skeleton).

Everything's derivative from somewhere, [hippo]. Some more than others, though... :^)

The problem with the skeletal/whole Jesus is the difference in weight - if weight wasn't an issue then there may or may not have been a cat...

One could argue that the process of death affects the weight of the cat. It doesn't matter. You're not supposed to weigh the box.
Spacecoyote, Mar 02 2009

//the process of death affects the weight of the cat//

How? Anyways, I think the weight hs to be printed on the box

pavlov's dog easter egg - nah p'raps not.

       //How? //

I think it's to do with the sudden arrival of the piano.
DrBob, Mar 03 2009

       Of course.

<fact> Each year, more cats are killed by falling pianos than in plane crashes </fact>
