Two teams play a version of street hockey, each player on a modified Segway. Around the base of each ride is a special bumper arrangement. Players try to propel a rubber ball into the opposing team’s net. The goalies have special paddles on the sides of their Segways, and extra levers on the handlebars, to allow them to knock the ball away. Exciting Segwockey action, at up to 12.5 mph!

       'Twas brilliant, what the Segway coves
Did with gyros and gimbals in this babe;
All whimsy were the review raves,
That the technohacks outspake.

       "Beware the crowded walk, my son!
The concrete bites, the cobbles catch!
Beware the steep, stark kerb, and shun
The frumious sidewalk rash!"

       He took his steering grip in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he fought
So rested he 'neath a plastic tree,
And stood awhile in thought.

       And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Segway HT, with innards aflame,
Went whiffling through the crowded mall,
A-whirring as it came!

       One two! One two! And through and through
Its circuit boards went snicker-snack!
It stopped rider dead, pitched him on head,
Laid out, flat as a tack.

       "And hast thou sold thy Segway, now?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
"That bloody thing, It's gone!, I say,"
He said, with strident joy.

       'Twas brilliant, what the Segway coves
Did with gyros and gimbals in this babe;
All whimsy were the review raves,
That the technohacks outspake.

       Sorry, [UB], I've already used up my croissant on the idea. This deserves to be a separate post.

       Nah. Maybe I'll set up a place for poetic parody, in the new year.

       No fair! The other team's using Orb-its!

       I would have thought polo a more appropriate model than hockey.
