After you’ve got yourself all hot and sweaty, jump in the shower. Just one catch… you have to walk the cross-trainer treads to pump the water to have your shower. Get fit while you rinse off. No, you don't have to heat the water yourself, just pump it up above head height.
(This idea is part of the Home, Sweat Home project)

How do I lift up one leg and wash my undercarriage without wiping out?

Giblet, Jan 03 2008

Not to worry. RolandCo's Self-powered Showers have an optional handcrank-powered, floor-mounted nozzle designed to provide a cleansing spray of warm soapy water directly upwards. Users can vary the intensity of the spray jets to meet their individual requirements. Now your undercarriage can be gently bathed and rinsed for everyday use, or pressure-washer scrubbed for those grimy, post-rugby clean-ups.

well, my backburner project is an energy-efficient home, so I have a manual pump that fills a tank in the roof: same thing except you don't have a shower *causing* you to break into a sweat.

I've often climbed out of the shower on a hot day, and found myself sweating before I could get my clothes on again. Working while in the shower would make that more frequent and more frustrating.

Pump the water up before you get in the shower. And save yourself from cleaning shower scum out of a cross-trainer's treads.
