What better time to discover that you're out of OJ, throat lozenges, and cold meds than when you're miserably sick.... Don't worry - just call Sick Kit Delivery, and we'll bring it all to you! Our standard "Sick Kit" comes with basic cold meds and throat lozenges, ultra-soft facial tissue, microwavable chicken-noodle soup, a carton of premium OJ, and a get-well card. And don't think you can only order for yourself! Order for a friend or coworker who's having a rough day in bed. For a nominal extra fee, you can customize a kit with a custom magazine or newspaper and a custom greeting card message!

Good old Kozmo would do everything you asked, back when they existed. [Worldgineer, Mar 08 2005]

Very good. Practical. You can get fringe-y with kits that have Echinecea (sp?) and herbal teas, etc., too.

There should be deluxe kits, too, with symptom-specific remedies like bowel oil.

You need also a "bad day" kit where someone will bring you a comforting book, maybe a teddybear, and a half pint of Ben & Jerry's chunky monkey ice ream too. That way, even on days when you call in sick but are really just faking... Also you need a hangover kit!

And a 'Bugger Off Kit', containing pepper spray, a t-shirt that says 'piss off, I'm in a bad mood', a taser, a pre-recorded answering machine message that says 'sorry people, but I'm in a shitty mood today, so please leave a message until my inner rage has gone', and a dartboard with pictures of those you hate on it for an extra fee. I might just halfbake this...

       [later] See 'bugger off kit'.

That's gotta hurt!

//Chunky monkey ice-cream// The images in my head are disturbing, thanks [gnomethang].

But Ben&Jerry's Phish Food Ice-Cream is so much better, especially if you want to rot your insides out.

I'd just like to boast that I made my own ice-cream a couple of weeks ago - 6 egg yolks, 3 whole eggs, lots of sugar, 3 pints of double cream, 3 or 4 pints of whole milk, 2 vanilla pods, 2 bars of top-quality plain chocolate - delicious!
hippo, Mar 14 2005

I can't remember - it was about 12-14oz of sugar. Yes - it is cooked: I heat the cream, some of the milk and vanilla pods (cut lengthways) to near- boiling and add some to the mixed eggs and sugar then put all this back into the hot cream and continue heating v-e-r-y gently to make an egg custard (delicious) rather than runny scrambled eggs (not so delicious). In goes the broken-up chocolate and when it's melted it all goes into my old-fashioned hand-cranked ice-cream maker. Top up with the remaining milk, pack the ice-cream maker with ice and salt, crank for 20 mins (which takes the 8-10 pints of near-boiling liquid to a frozen slush). Put in freezer.

       Did it cure your cold?

Thanks, @Voice. I've been thinking about this idea more recently....
