Half a croissant, on a plate, with a sign in front of it saying '50c'

This would work fine, except in terms of success.

Skyscraper Waterfalls

Everyone loves the sound of running water.

It seems to me that employees would be far more happy and satisfied if there was a series of waterfalls that ran through a tall office building, falling from floor to floor.

Sure, I've seen waterfalls inside buildings before, but never one that ran from top to bottom of a 40 storey building.

To ensure waterproofing and to minimise noise it might be best to put it in an open atrium, next to the lift shafts.

Done right, you could have salmon spawing in the pool on the roof, every year.

I see something constructed of rocks, surrounded by trees and shrubs and sedges, covered in moss.

The mailroom is at the top of the building... memo~s and internal mail are delivered in shatterproof flasks, RFID-tagged to be sequestered at the appropriate floor.

...are not exactly a new idea. [DrCurry, Nov 03 2005]

Steaming fountain skyscraper sculpture Similar, different. Perhaps I subconciously stole mine from AI. [Worldgineer, Nov 03 2005]

Yeah, I think it's ugly too. [DrCurry, Nov 03 2005]

Very true. We get a bit claustrophobic, don't we?

Pay no attention to it. It's a mirage.

(I like this idea, Bubs. Add my bun to the others up there. Go on!)

I want to go swimming in one of the mirage pools, at lunchtime.

"Let's make it bigger" does not make it new or original.

Show me a building where there's a waterfall through every floor, primarily for the enjoyment of the employees working in it.

I can gainsay anything, too. It's easy.
UnaBubba, Nov 03 2005

I'm not entirely sure why else you would put a waterfall in a building?

The running water sounds would just make me want to go to the toilet more. And I sit too far away from it as it is...
JoeyJoJoShabadoo, Nov 04 2005

I can imagine folk going over it in barrels...bouncing down through the building from floor to floor +
xenzag, Nov 04 2005

How about if the water started at the top level, and meandered through each level before dropping to the next level below? There could be little bridges at each hallway intersection to cross over to the other side. Several streams can merge to form a river on the bottom level.
Coal Drag, Nov 04 2005

…Then we could kayak to meetings.

Heh, [BrauBeaton], guess they didn’t have as many tourists as expected.
Shz, Nov 04 2005

Have you noticed how noisy waterfalls actually are?
Vito, Oct 08 2006

Yes, I have one in my pool. Have you noticed this is the HB, where practicality is a minor consideration?
UnaBubba, Oct 08 2006

Now if this doubled as a mail delivery system...

       There's a bloody good idea.
