Damn! I was just going to add a superbly halfbaked idea - the solar-powered barbeque - but a swift web-search shows me that about a million people have thought of this before me. I'm still going to add it though as even if it works, it *looks* halfbaked.

By the way, I am longsighted (US: farsighted) and so I can char (I was going to write 'cook', but this would be innaccurate) small amounts of food by focussing the sun's rays with my glasses.
