Spring water ice

You will never settle for that mundane tap ice again!

Lots of people gladly pay many dollars for a drink of water flown to them from halfway around the world. Here at BUNGCO we lick our metaphorical lips thirstily. But it is not water we thirst for!

Consider these folks: they have a green glass bottle of water on the table. But the ice - straight from the tap and swimming with cryptosporidia, thru the filth-encursted ice maker (we have pictures!) and right into their glass. How can that be? It is simply lack of education.

BUNGCO has licensed the various well known mineral waters and aded them to our proprietary one-use ice tray. Simply buy the prefilled tray, place it in the freezer, then pop out the ice (destroying the tray in the process). The cubes come in fancy shapes reminiscent of the logos of their respective brands. Everybody wins!

There was an outfit in British Columbia grabbing chunks of ice floating at the foot of a local glacier and selling it. Their schtick was it "was laid down thousands of years ago before there was any pollution and it is denser than regular ice so lasts longer in your drink." I can't find the link but here is one about the melted version [link]

There's just that little issue with the micro-organisms which multiply rapidly in icemelt turning everything in your bowels to a thick, oatmealy coffee solution, after the water has been in the bottle a couple of days.

It might pay to secretly irradiate the water with a high dose of UV light before you ship the bottles.

ah but that's how you can tell it's the real stuff.

Waaait a minute. We charge extra for coffee and oatmeal.

If you were to collect clear glacial ice somewhere, could you send enough ultraviolet light through it to kill microorganisms without melting the ice?

//could you send enough ultraviolet light through it to kill microorganisms//

Probably better off with gamma radiation, more penetrating power. Regardless, neither UV nor gamma depend on heat to kill, so it should be possible with very deep refrigeration to prevent the radiation from raising the temperature to far.

Mind you, you would have to build a very specialized sterilization chamber, and it would add significant cost.
