Basically, a spoiler with a motorized attitude control system that causes the spoiler to tilt so that it directs airflow in such a way as to assist with stability during a high-speed turn. (?) Porsche 917

If it was divided into two sections, left and right, you could keep the turnside section elevated to increase grip on the side the weight has shifted away from, while flattening the other side which will be producing unnecessary drag. |

<does some nosing around> |

It turns out Porsche had this exact idea at Le Mans in the 1970's. Their movable sections were attached to the suspension, not the steering, but it had the same effect of counteracting bodyroll when cornering at speed (link). |

Spoilers are pretty much decorative only at speeds below about 120mph. |
|
| |
And not all that decorative, in my opinion. I just saw a big pickup truck with dual knobby wheels and a spoiler. The spoiler was of a shape that wouldn't have provide any downforce even if it hadn't been blanked off from any airflow by the pick cab. It looked very silly. |

But yes, two-part spoiler that tilts the left and the right sides differently has long seemed a good idea to me. How about a vertical fin, adjustable for crosswinds? |
|

The FIA ban all moving aerodynamic parts. |

| |
Edit: actually, forget the question <wanders off muttering about the absurdity of grooved tyres>. |

I've seen something similar on a Nissan sports-racing prototype of c.1970. More interesting, there was someone experimenting with steering-linked vertical sailboard sails on a Lotus 7 clone, which have a similar action with somewhat more moment arm. I'll see if I can find a link. |

[+] for coming up with it independently. |

[-] For coming up with the same idea that I had. But I found out it was already taken by Porsche because I looking it up. |

I don't see any post of yours that even resembles this idea, frog, so unless you mentioned this idea here before, I didn't steal it. |
