A compact, portable tent that is inflated with a compressed air canister like emergency rafts (and thus can also act as a raft). They air filled walls will also insulate the tent from high or low temperatures. Inside is a small cache of suvival gear. Knife, matches, radio, rope, compass, freeze dried food, and water purifcation tablets. Also fishing tackle and maybe a sling or bola for hunting. And most imporatantly, a towel.

       How about some food?

I don't have a link, but somebody was working on a prototype. I think he spent ten days lost at sea in some kind of raft, and had no means to control his direction.

Out of frustration he began doing the design work after he was rescued. He was working on shelter, flotation, and steering all in one small package. I don't know where it's at now.

You would think he would invent an inflatable paddle or an inflatable outobard motor. LOL. How would an inflatable tent have helped him?
